Somehow I missed these....

In looking through the August pictures I found these and couldn't resist putting them up here on the blog. They are from when Aunt Chrissy and the girls came down to play for a few days in early August. =) Gotta love happy kids at the park and super comfy sleeping babies.

Cousins, Playmates, Friends

These photos are from a few weeks ago when the kids and I were up in Maryville visiting family while Daddy studied. Noah always has so much fun playing with Colin at Grammy and Papa's house and this visit was no exception. It is great to watch them play together so well when they don't get to see each other very often. They always pick up right where they left off and play until they are exhausted. When Colin spent the night at Grammy and Papa's we spied the two boys sleeping soundly with Noah taking up the whole bed and Colin using all the blankets. It was funny and cute. Love seeing them all together.

Meeting Baby Hayden

We finally got to meet my long time best friend's new baby Hayden Elias McCormick last week when Steph and her mom were able to venture down for a quick visit together. I had such a good time catching up with them and also holding that sweet baby - he is such a little doll. Hayden was born a month early and weighed in at 4 pounds and 17 inches. He is now 2 months old and has doubled his birth weight at around 8 pounds and I still thought he was so tiny. Both Noah and Rachel weighed just around 8 pounds when they were born (Noah just over and Rachel just under) so for me it was like holding a newborn. I can't imagine how tiny he must have been when he was first born. Steph is amazing with him and I am so happy that she and Jamey finally have this little fellow to love and adore. Rachel really enjoyed holding him and still asks to go see Miss Dora (Doris, Stephanie's mom) in Tennessee so she can hold Baby Hayden. It was cute to watch them all together. Noah thought he was pretty neat too, but was more interested in showing Stephanie and Doris all his cool Star Wars and Indiana Jones stuff. Thanks again Stephanie for coming down for a visit. I hope to get up to your house soon!

Backyard Visitors

While Rachel and I were eating lunch today I happened to see this beautiful creature walking from the woods towards our house. Forgive the terrible pictures - these were taken from inside the house with my zoom lens and for the life of me, I could not focus on the deer. I was sneaking outside to see if I could capture her better when Phoebe figured out there was something out there and went nuts. Drats. ;) I'm liking these new neighbors of ours.

Happy 3rd Birthday Chloe!!!

The kids and I were very lucky to get to slip away last weekend while Daddy was studying (in the quiet) and head up to Maryville to see everyone for a very quick trip. We got to go to Chloe's birthday party, which was awesome since we haven't gotten to attend one of their birthday parties yet, so it was a really great time. I know the kids had a lot of fun running around and playing with all their cousin's toys, playing outside on the climbers, and just having fun with their cousins. It was a great day, a great birthday and a great visit. Thanks again for inviting us guys! Happy Birthday Chlo-bug!!

A Visit with the Hendrix Girls

We all had a lot of fun a couple of weekends ago when Christina came down with her three girls for a visit. We played and had all kinds of fun and were so glad they could come and see us. Thanks again Chris for the visit and all your help while you were here! It was much appreciated!

Mommy's Helper

Rachel is somewhat lost while Noah is at school, although in some ways I think she enjoys having me all to herself during the day. Lots of time with Mommy for holding, playing baby dolls, cooking me dinner, doctoring me and doing my hair, nails and make up. She loves to help me water the flowers in the evening. We got her her own little pink watering can and she certainly feels pretty important helping me with this 'very important' task. ;)

First Day of Kindergarten - Class of 2021

Wow, that was harder than I thought it would be. Noah did great! He didn't get nervous until we were walking down the hallway and then it was just for a second. He walked right in, checked in at Miss Jackie's desk, hung up his backpack, said hello to his teacher, (kissed Mom goodbye), then sat on the rug with other kids playing with blocks... and that was when I had to make my exit... I wish I could be a ladybug on the wall today. And so it begins....

...and later....

Noah had a great day at school today! He said he had a lot of fun, made some new friends, read the Bearstein Bears Go to School, sang some songs, wrote numbers, made a bear, played with little tiny blocks, said the alphabet, ate lunch, took a nap and didn't get to play outside (he was kind of sad about that). He said his favorite part of the day was lunchtime - eating his lunch I had packed in his Star Wars lunch box. He said he played with two little boys named Bryson and Hunter, he had a lot of fun and that he really likes his teachers. It sounds like he did indeed have a good day and that makes for a happy mom and dad. =)
