SNOW!!!! Fun In The Snow

The kids have had an absolute blast in the snow that started falling on Tuesday! They actually were at school when it started falling and it came down fast. By 9:50, I had received a call from the school saying they were closing at 10 am.  10 minutes of notice! I guess they needed to get the kids home and quick! What a mess! It took us almost an hour to get home and it's a 10 minute drive! The kids played in the snow for darn near the rest of the week! We have the best sledding hill behind our house and this was the first time any of them had ever been sledding. They had a ball! I loved watching them enjoy the snow in a whole new way. We couldn't make a snowman out of this snow- it was way too soft and powdery, but it was perfect for sledding and I was thinking my stars that we had picked up the sleds the last time we were supposed to get the pretty white stuff. Even Phoebe enjoyed the snow! She got out and romped around in it like a puppy. It was so good to see her running and jumping and tossing sticks up in the air…. I love to see her in the snow. I guess she comes by that pretty honest, being from Michigan! Good times.

BLAST Swimming: 2014 SE Pilot Flying J January Classic

The kids got to swim for BLAST at the Pilot Flying J January Classic earlier this month. Both Noah and Rachel swam really well. They both swam about 10 events each and both had greatly improved their event times. We are so proud of both of them for their swimming. Swimming BLAST this winter has not only improved their strokes and times, but they have developed such a love for swimming. I love to watch them swim. So much. They are very excited to see what the summer months at Green Meadow hold for them. Good times.
