Freedom Fest 2013

We took the kids to Freedom Fest 2013 - the fireworks at Springbrook. They haven't held them for a few years and it was so nice that they were back this year. The fireworks display was incredible. The kids loved it and Kate was enthralled. It was her first time seeing fireworks and she was very excited to finally see what all the fuss was about! We all loved them! We got really lucky with parking and getting in and out this year. Somehow it just all fell into place. Good times.

Vacation Bible School 2013

The kids had such a great time at Vacation Bible School this week! They look forward to this all year and were so excited for this week to get here. The theme this year was Kingdom Rock and they had a lot of fun learning all the verses that went along with the characters for the weeks lessons. Rachel was lucky to have several friends in her class this year: Emma, Alex, Mekenzie and Cousin David. Noah was joined by Cousin Olivia and sweet Kate ventured into her classroom solo for her first experience with VBS. She was so, so excited and it didn't bother her a bit that she didn't have a buddy with her. She loved and adored her teacher and each day, she didn't want to leave. Doug and I were so glad she enjoyed it so much. All the kids seemed to have a great time and the show they put on at the end of the week was so cute! All the kids gathered around the stage and the age groups took turns climbing on stage and singing songs. So very cute. Good times.

Under Water Fun!

I finally got an under water camera! I have wanted one for a long time and it was so much fun to try out and play with. The kids loved it and were happy to ham it up for me. Love these pictures we got! :)

Green Meadow vs SAC ---Kate's First Swim Meet

All of the kids did a great job at the Green Meadow vs SAC swim meet! We were so, so proud of all of them and it was Kate's very first meet! Ever! She was so excited and couldn't wait to be a part of the whole thing. She warmed up with all the other kids and had no trouble swimming in the middle of the pool (not by the wall, like her usual practice lane). She jumped off the block during warm up and was a little upset that she wasn't able to go off the block during her races. She did so, so good! She cut her time by about 20 seconds and by the time she made it to the end of the pool (all of 1:15 later), the whole crowd was cheering her on! She climbed out and beamed me a huge smile and was so proud of herself. She did so good! She swam 25 meter freestyle and also swam in the Medley Relay (freestyle). Rachel swam the 100IM again, backstroke, the medley relay (backstroke) and the freestyle relay. She did awesome!! Noah swam 25 freestyle, 25 backstroke (he got 1st place!!), the medley relay (breaststroke) and the freestyle relay. They all did an amazing job. So very exciting watching all three of them compete in the meet.
