Noah was too little to go trick or treating this year, so he wore his costume to daycare (where I worked) to celebrate. I had to dress up as well, so I went as a nurse this year. Instead of bunches of candy, he got several Halloween books to look at and play with. He was definitely the cutest giraffe there!Friday, October 31, 2003

Carving Pumpkins

Can you guess who's is who's? Ha ha... Doug's is on the left, Noah's in the middle and mine is on the right. I think mine look just about the same every year. :)
Noah seemed to enjoy pumpkin carving - he really wasn't too troubled to stick his little hand in his pumpkin and feel all the yucky stuff. It was cute to watch him react to it and I love that he was involved, even if in such a tiny way. Love this little boy so much and love including him in all of our traditions.

Little Giraffe

Doug picked out Noah's Halloween costume at Target and he thought it was just perfect for him. It was a bit big, but it was still soooo cute! When we originally went to Target we weren't even looking for a costume, but there it was and Doug knew as soon as he saw it that Noah had to have it. I could only giggle and agree with him.

Noah At The Pumpkin Patch

About two weeks before Halloween we took Noah to Southdale Nursery to their pumpkin patch there. It was so much fun to watch him taste all the pumpkins. The first thing he did was taste the stem, and then lean over to lick the side of the pumpkin. They had a cute set up inside the nursery for pictures, but he was having none of that - He was too busy trying to eat all the hay they kept sitting him in. We stuck to the pumpkins outside and let him enjoy himself. :)

Happiness
I wish you could hear the laughter that this sweet boy was making while he was laying in the tub tonight. I recorded it on a memory button and put it in his scrapbook to keep safe... I wish we could record it here as well...Happiness is holding the sound of your laughter in my heart, your wonder of the world around you, and the complete joy you take in the everyday instances of just being alive. Noah, you are my happiness.

First Word: Mama

Noah said his first word on the first of October. We were sitting in Tony Romas having dinner when all of the sudden he just started saying 'Mamamamamamamama'. I looked at Doug and he looked at me, then we looked at Noah and he looked right at me and said 'Ma Ma'. Now I know he had no idea that I was Ma Ma, but I got the biggest smile on my face. I cannot express the thrill in my heart that his first word was the name I was to be called by him for the rest of my life.
