Road Trip!

We started our vacation a little early by picking up Noah at school around 1 and hitting the road for Peachtree City for our first night. We wanted to check on the house and upon finding it in great condition, we decided to enjoy our favorite sushi at She's Bistro for dinner. Kate surprised us by enjoying it also and eating it by the fistfull. We decided to drive a little further and ended up in Phenix City, Alabama for the night. Hampton Inn... we love you.. but Kate lovin' you, not so much. After a wakeful night we pulled out of the parking lot with the sun rising and made it to Panama City Beach by 10:30 am...

18 Month Check Up

Kate had her 18 month appointment and she weighed in at 20 pounds even, which puts her in the 3rd percentile for weight. Her height shot up from the 12th percentile to the 50th percentile. We could tell she had grown quite a bit as she was growing out of her 6-12 month clothes and into her 12-18 month clothes through the length of the body (they are still a bit big around the waist). She is 27 & 3/4 inches tall. Her personality is coming through loud and clear now - she likes to make people laugh and she likes to get her way. She is saying more and more words and will respond with please, thank you and love you in the right context. We love hearing her say all her words and encourage her often to repeat words we say. She is wearing 12-18 month clothes and size 3 diapers still. She loves to eat pancakes, blue berry muffins, mandarin oranges and pasta. She will sit to have her hair fixed, but likes to take her bows out and hand them to us and say "bow!" She loves Phoebe and is very gentle with her. She has finally mastered turning around and backing down the stairs and a whole new world of play has opened up for her now that she can get to the playroom. Her favorites down there are the mega blocks and the play kitchen. She's a sweetheart and we love watching her learn and grow every single day.

Big Sister, Little Sister

They are finally starting to play together and interact together better now that Kate is becoming more capable of communicating. Rachel has always played with Kate, but as a big sister to a little baby. Now that Kate can get up and down the stairs to the playroom, it's fun to watch them play house, kitchen and baby dolls together. It is a little of the wow factor for me as I watch my baby play baby dolls. She is growing up and changing every day. I love watching the relationships that are forming with all three of our children.

I had to add that very blurry picture at the bottom... because I love it. She was looking out the window at Panera this morning... So sweet.

Raccoon Romp 2010

The annual fund raiser at Noah's school is the Raccoon Romp - A mini marathon for the kids and they have people sponser them for each lap they run. Noah ran 9 laps this year (1 lap better than last year). We went and watched him run this year for a bit and it was fun to watch him turning around the track. When he saw us, he had been running and then had slowed for a breather, but upon seeing us, he started running again as fast as he could. I loved the wave he threw us as he rounded the track! =)

Tie Game 1-1

It was a tie game this week - however, this was the best we have ever seen Noah play. It was awesome watching him this week. His whole team played great and they really seem to be learning to play together. The one goal that was scored by our team was the result of a pass that Noah made to the boy who then kicked it in. It was a great game! Noah also was happy and excited because one of his good friends was on the opposing team. Miss Kate was trying to eat her pretend corn from her kitchen that traveled to the game in her purse... Funny. =)

Weekday Evening...

Just a regular evening for us: We'd just come from dinner at Arby's. Noah practicing soccer on the field, the girls watching, and Kate trying to sneak onto the field to kick the ball herself... Little imp. =)

Our Life In Pictures - Years 2006, 2007, 2008

This was my birthday gift from Doug this year and it has made me so very, very happy! These books are 'Wow'!! When I came across a post on a favorite scrapbook artists website I was so excited to see a company that would actually print your blog! For years I have wanted to print our blog out, but due to cost of printer ink and paper and the numerous amount of photos I post I knew it would cost a fortune to do it. With Blog2print/Shared Books, suddenly it was possible. I was so very excited to find a big box on the front porch today when I got home from picking up Rachel from school. We had ordered the first three years of our blog in (4) books - I was holding years 2006, 2007 (split into 2 books) and 2008 in my hands. It is wonderful to have the blog backed up in hard copy and know it is safely preserved if the website ever crashes. Plus we have years of memories printed out and journaled.... and they are beautiful, hard cover books with a dedication page and table of contents with each post labeled. What a wonderful, wonderful gift!! Thank you so much Doug!! I love you!

Spirit Week -- Wacky Hair Day!

It's Spirit Week at Noah's school this week. Today was Wacky Hair day. Noah was so very excited to wear his hair all crazy! He decided we needed to try and give him a faux-hawk/mo-hawk. After a handfull of hair gel, some blow drying and a half a can of hair spray this is what we had! He loved it and he even took second place in the school for the craziest hair (first place went to the gym teacher, who had balloons in her hair). I would say Wacky Hair day was a success!
