Welcome To 3rd Grade!!!

We attended Noah's Open House to meet his teacher on Thursday night. He was so happy to discover that he will be in the same homeroom as his best friend Riley. They have been friends since Noah's first year at Foothills and also played on the same soccer team. It will be nice to see their closeness continue. :) Their teacher's name is Mrs. Rinck - she seemed very nice and Noah was very happy with his room and desk. While we were there we walked down to the Kindergarten section with Rachel, so she could see where it was. Her class lists and open house will be next Tuesday.

Back To School Supplies

It's that time of year again... Back to School! This year is a special one too, because not only is our big dude starting 3rd grade, but Rachel is starting Kindergarten! Noah was an old pro at gathering his school supplies and it was cute to watch Rachel picking out her supplies - she wanted to pick and then place each of her own items in the cart herself. Because she has to carry the Foothills school bag as a kindergartener she got to pick out a new lunchbox. I was happy when she picked out a red and black lady bug - it will match her school bag perfectly! :) Noah got a new backpack this year that we ordered with Darth Vader's head on it. It's a big kid backpack and should last him a few years... at least until Star Wars isn't so cool anymore... (Will that ever happen?). Had to stick in a couple of pictures of our Kate-Kate - She has discovered dressing up (which makes it not so unbearable for Rachel to play with her now...). She loves to put on her Toot-toot and dance! Such a little silly!

Last Day @ Green Meadow

A handful of pictures from our last couple of days at Green Meadow. This summer with the swim team has been such a success. We are so very proud of both Noah and Rachel for their swimming this summer. They have improved so, so much! Both of them started weak after last summer of taking lessons and a bit of regression. Rachel couldn't quite make it the length of the pool without holding onto the side. Now here we are at the end of the season and they are both much stronger swimmers - easily able to dive in and swim the complete length of the pool. Not afraid of the deep end and loving the chance to jump or dive off of the diving board. They both competed and placed well in the swim meets this summer and it was so awesome to see their joy - both of them, at winning a blue ribbon - first place in one of their races. We look forward to them swimming for the team again next year and watching Kate begin with swim lessons. Good times and good memories!! Both the kids are pictured with Kennedy - the 8 & Under lane coach.

Visit With Amie & Family

I always love it so much when Amie, John and the kids come into town. The kids adore Olivia and David and they always exchange huge hugs and then go right to playing - even if it's been 6 months since we've seen them. It's the same with Amie - I can't wait to get my arms around her and talk her ear off. There's always tons to catch up on and I can't get enough when she is here. So, so glad for the chance to have them here and see the kids play and love on them. We got to have O & D over a few nights while they were here and the kids had a blast! They left this morning to head back to Little Rock and we're all always so sad to see them go. Love those guys!

5 Little Monkeys Visit The Knoxville Zoo!

While Amie, John and the kids were in visiting, we headed over to the Knoxville Zoo to check out all the animals. It has been a long time since I was there with Noah (I think he was around 2 the last time we were there) and the girls hadn't been at all. I love seeing the kids explore and checking out all the animals. Kate kept asking where Zoe was (she's in our Sesame Street Zoo book at home). It was a great day and I loved every minute of it! For more pictures of this zoo trip check out our facebook album here. For a look at the last zoo trip we did you can see the kids at the Little Rock Zoo here! Look how little they were!
