Mommy's Dress

Rachel has been asking me for weeks to see my wedding dress. The reason I hadn't pulled it out was because it was double boxed and double heirloom sealed... (Thanks Mom). This morning I unboxed it. I have to admit I was a little bit misty eyed. I can't believe it's been almost 16 years since I had seen or touched it. The girls were all giggles of glee as I let them try it on... Rachel swears she wants to wear it when she gets married. I know she won't always feel that way, but it sure is sweet to hear her say... :) Kate kept saying 'Let's play dress up, Mommy!'. She's so funny.

Another Win For The Lightning!!!

The Lightning claimed their latest game with a 5-4 win this morning! I am so proud of Noah and his teammates! They are really playing well together and it is so much fun to watch them play. It is amazing how this team has really come together and have learned to play together. Noah scored a goal to help his team with the win and he was so excited! I love it!

Raccoon Romp 2012!!

That's my girl!! Rachel did awesome in the Raccoon Romp this year! She ran 11 laps! That's three more than she ran last year! Way to go Rachel!! Kate was so excited to go and watch Rachel run and even ran a couple of very short sections along with her. We sure missed seeing Noah run this year -- I don't think the Intermediate school has anything quite like the romp. Rachel and all her friends did a great job and we are proud of all of them! Awesome job this year!

Spirit Week @ Foothills

It was Spirit Week at Rachel's school this week in preparation for the Raccoon Romp on Friday. Rachel loves dressing up and she did her best this week to do it up right! Tuesday was Super Hero day and she dressed up as Super Girl. Luckily we had the costume from a couple of Halloweens ago, even though it was getting a little bit small, she rocked it! Wednesday was Team Spirit Day and she loved wearing her Maryville shirt and her big red bow. Thursday was Crazy Hair Day and boy, did we go a little bit crazy! We put her hair up in a super high ponytail and then made 7 separate braids. We then hair sprayed the whole 'do' jet black! After we added a few bows into the mix, she was ready to head off to school. Friday was Romp day and they got to wear their new t-shirts for the Romp. She had a lot of fun this week!

1st Grade Zoo Trip With Rachel

I had the best opportunity the other day to accompany Rachel's 1st grade class to the Knoxville Zoo for a field trip. We had a blast! I had so much fun watching Rachel and her friends explore and enjoy the zoo! We spent about 2 and a half hours with several of her friends looking at the animals. Rachel and I ended up staying for an extra hour after we signed her out and having some one on one girl time. I love the zoo and it appears that Rachel does too! It was a super day. :) After heading back to Maryville, we stopped at Chickfila for lunch and then went back to school to pick up Noah. I think we both had an exceptional day!
