He Scored!!! (2nd Game)

Noah played in his second game on Saturday and he played really well! The team played great together and we were so proud of Noah for scoring one of the goals in the game! The teams ended up tying 2-2. After Noah scored his goal he was all smiles - as you can see in the picture above. One of the guys on the team even gave him a 'chest bump' - so funny. Love it! Great job Sharks!!

Owl Pellets

Do you know what an 'owl pellet' is? I had never heard of such a thing until Noah's teacher sent home a note letting us know the kids would be dissecting them.... Yes... I thought they would be dissecting owl poo - but no, thankfully this is what an owl pellet is:

"A pellet, in ornithology, is the mass of undigested parts of a bird's food that some bird species occasionally regurgitate. The contents of a bird's pellet depend on its diet, but can include the exoskeletons of insects, indigestible plant matter, bones, fur, feathers, bills, claws, and teeth. In falconry, the pellet is called a casting." ---- Copied and pasted from Wikipedia.

Noah came home yesterday very excited to have dissected his owl pellet and very happy to show off his results. The kids had dissected the pellets, sorted the bones, matched them to their labeled picture and glued them down. Very cool. I'm glad he enjoyed his exciting day in science. :)

Joy

I snapped these pictures at Noah's soccer game - LOVE. You never really know what you're going to get with these two - they move so fast! I love how good they play together and that you can see the joy on their faces. Big smiles make happy mamas.

Sharks: First Game of the Season

Noah's first game of the season was on Saturday. It was a gorgeous day and the kids played hard. Lots of new experiences out there this season - There's a keeper (goalie) and the field seems twice as big! Lots more running! The Sharks lost the game 1-4, but I was proud of Noah. He almost scored a goal that the keeper caught and he hustled out there. I know it's going to be an exciting season!

Sweet Phoebe

Love this old girl.

Remember That First Sheet Of Homework?

Rachel had her very first homework sheet before school ever started. It was a 'Facts About Me' sheet we had to fill out and send back on the first day. This is why- The class has a 'Facts About Me' book that makes its rounds before it hits the bookshelf in Mrs. Johnson's Kindergarten classroom. Rachel was so excited and proud to bring that book home and show us all of her friends pictures and read all about them. We sat on the couch and read through the entire book and she shared all kinds of details about each of her little friends. Observation: Rachel is the tallest girl in her class and there are only 2 boys who are taller!

Celebrating Lydia's 4th Birthday!

We helped Lydia celebrate her 4th birthday yesterday! She had a Minnie Mouse party and I had the honor of making the cake again this year - priceless seeing her reaction when she first saw it. LOVE the looks on these kids faces when they see their cakes. :) Lydia seemed to know she was belle of the ball and had a great birthday. All the kids had fun running around playing and it was a nice afternoon of celebrating a sweet girl turning four.

"I Go Tinkle Mommy!! I Go Tinkle Daddy!!"

Kate decided yesterday was the day! She told me she wanted to go 'tinkle' on the potty and then maybe she could have a piece of candy, please? She went about 7 or 8 times all during the rest of the day - she sure loves that candy! We can't believe she just suddenly decided to go. She spent yesterday afternoon running around in her new Elmo panties and yelling that she needed to 'go tinkle' and then munching on a piece of candy. Today she continued going to the potty to 'tinkle' and number 2 on the potty - we're so proud of her! YAY Kate!!!! Great Job, Baby!!!!
