Coloring Eggs

The kids have always enjoyed coloring Easter eggs. They were no less excited this year when it came time to start the eggs boiling. The kids drew on some eggs with the wax crayon before dipping them in the cups of colored dye. It was cute to watch them dip and then re-dip them into a second color to make a third color. Doug even joined them to color a couple. Kate joined us after she had woken up for her nap for a snack and she got to play with a few plastic eggs while the kids dipped the real ones. After the eggs were all colored Noah read the Easter story to Rachel and the rest of us. Love that.

Easter Egg Hunt @ Springbrook Park

We took the kids over to Springbrook Park today to go to the community Easter egg hunt. They put this egg hunt on every year and host a big show with singing, games, big slides and bounce houses. We arrived just before the egg hunt began and the kids were very excited to see all the eggs on the ground. (Perhaps they should call it an 'egg pickup' rather than an egg hunt. ;) Rachel, Chloe, and Lydia were in one patch of grass with the 0-4 year olds and Noah and Emma were in the 5-8 year old patch. The hunt was over within a matter of minutes and the kids settled down to open their eggs. There was lots of jelly beans, a few free kids meals from Road House and three of the kids won larger prizes. Noah won a chocolate bunny, Chloe won a pack of Reese's Pieces shaped in a carrot and Rachel won a HUGE Reese's peanut butter and chocolate egg. After a quick visit with the Easter bunny we headed off to Chickfila for some lunch. It was a really nice morning/afternoon spent with people we love. Good times. =)

Noah's Class Egg Hunt

Noah had his class egg hunt in his teacher's backyard. The kids were so excited to go to Mrs. Bryant's house to hunt their eggs. Doug, the girls and I met them there to watch the hunt. It was cute to see them all so excited. The hunt was a little different than your typical egg hunt. Each child had a number and they had to search for their number, so that the hunt would last a little longer. Noah did great and found 14 eggs. The girls watched the whole thing and I think one little girl would have liked to have helped her big brother find his eggs! Dressed the girls in one of my favorite outfits --- love, love, love them matching. =)

Easter Egg Hunt @ The Learning Tree

Rachel had her Easter egg hunt at her preschool today. It was fun to watch her run around trying to find her eggs. We got there a couple of minutes late and she had already found all the eggs she was aloud to pick up so she was helping her friends find theirs. After all the kids had found their eggs they ran around and played for a while. Doug and I always enjoyed watching Noah play at his preschool. It was nice to watch Rachel interact with all her friends.
