The kids loved the pool - maybe even better than the ocean. We would usually start out in the ocean and if the algea that was occuring in the area was in, we would head back to the pool. The algea wasn't bad, it would come up the surf through out the day and you could see from the balcony if it was a good time to swim in the waves or not. The kids enjoyed swimming and even on the cool days when the girls and I stayed in the hot tub, Noah was brave enough to swim in the chilly water. Brrrrrrrrrrrr! We picked up a blue inner tube for them to play in and they both loved turning flips under water and doing handstands. I'm so glad they took swim lessons this past summer. It was wonderful watching them swim around like fish and not having to worry about them being scared of the water. Kate has the opposite problem - she loves the water and has no fear of it. She will jump in the side whether you are ready for her or not. That, in itself is quite the handful! I'm pretty sure Doug could have laid out by the pool all day... He loved soaking up the sun all week long.
