Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween!!! I hope everyone had a happy and safe Halloween this year. We had an awesome one in our family! Noah was Harry Potter, Rachel was Super Girl and Kate was a Bumble Bee. Noah was so excited to be Harry Potter with black hair. We got him the robe, wand, eye glasses and black hairspray at the Halloween store and he could barely wait to color his hair for his part. Rachel struggled a little choosing her costume this year. She had told me she wanted to be Super Girl or Spider Girl earlier in the month, which honestly surprised me a little. I encouraged her to make sure she would be happy with her choice because we wouldn't be taking her outfit back -- She chose Super Girl. I was worried she would want something a little more girly, but she was delighted to be Super Girl and loved to strike her pose as much as Harry did. Miss Kate wasn't choosey this year, so when I found her cute little outfit at Cracker Barrell, I knew it would be just perfect! We started our day at home doing normal things (Doug worked a 10-6 shift), although clad in their costumes that I had promised they could wear all day. We then went to an early dinner at McDonald's with Mamaw, Aunt Chrissy and the girls. A little later Doug picked us up and we headed over to Uncle Chris & Aunt Chrissy's house to trick or treat. The kids were soooo excited! It was cute to watch them all and Kate was like a little pro - She walked right up to the first house and took her treat that they offered, said 'Thank you, BYE!' and headed for the next house. She did awesome for 19 months old and by the end of the night, she would walk up and say 'Treat!', followed by 'Thank you, BYE!'. It was hysterical. She had several suckers along the way. After trick or treating, the kids checked out their candy -ate several pieces- and then we headed over to Grammy & Papa's house to trick or treat there. After visiting for a little while, we then finished up our night at Mamaw's house to trick or treat. We had three tired, but very happy kiddos at night's end. All in all, it was a great Halloween!!

Halloween Party!

I had so much fun throwing a Halloween party for our families this year. The kids were all thrilled and seemed to have a great time. They all came dressed in costume: there was a little black kitty cat, a polar bear, Belle - the princess, 2 awesome aliens, Harry Potter & Super Girl. We had lots of food- chili, mummy dogs, haystack carrots and celery, witches broom cheese ball, chips and salsa, hot apple cider, witches brew punch and lots and lots of yummy treats! The kids played games -- Bobbing for apples, toss the beanbag into the pumpkin, Ring toss on the witches hat, tattoos, Halloween coloring sheets and more. They also watched the new Shrek Halloween special and ate lots and lots of sweets. It was a blast to see all of them having so much fun.
