Playing at Papa & Grammy's House

It was so cool to see all the 'boys' playing basketball this trip. It was especially cute to see Noah and Colin playing with Donny and Doug in a sort of 2 on 2 game. I love seeing those boys play together and having fun. Cute stuff. It really was a nice trip. =)

Playing at Mamaw's House

We got to spend this past weekend up at Mom's and Doug's parents house and it was a great visit with everyone. We had a lot of fun seeing everyone and the kids always love playing together. It's great being able to see family so much more often since we have made the move to Georgia. I love that we are just a few hours from home rather than spending all day in the car waiting to get there. Before we would spend two whole days of our time just traveling and now it is so much nicer to know we can leave in the morning and get there by lunch time. =) The kids had fun playing with Emma and Chloe and little Lydia is just beginning to toddle around. I love that phase where they are just beginning to realize that they can walk! She'll be racing around the house within the week, I bet! =)

Tonight HE Read to US

Every night we read to the kids. Every night they pick the books they want and then we snuggle up right before bedtime and read. Tonight I picked a book and Noah picked a book and then he read to Doug and I. We were so proud of him. He only needed help with a very few words. It was really great for him to know that he had just read his night time books to us. He has a packet of words that he has been learning to read (sight words) that his teacher put together and he knows all of them. Just today we added about ten new words to the packet for him to learn.

It's Raining

It's raining for the first time in I think a month here... I love it. I love this time of year. This is my favorite, favorite time of year. It makes me so happy to look around and see the leaves beginning to change, pumpkins on people's porches, fall decorations... I love the smell of pumpkin bread baking and hot apple cider in my mug. =) Makes me happy. Also including some 'everyday' photos I took this week...

Fall Festival @ Noah's School

Today was the Fall Festival held at Noah's school. The kids had a really good time playing and doing lots of things like horse-back rides, a train ride, bounce arounds, giant slides, face painting and more. Noah was so very excited about riding a horse. All he could think of was that he was going to be like Indiana Jones and ride a horse. He had a big goofy grin on his face the whole time. Rachel on the other hand was not impressed. She wanted to ride in the beginning, but by the time she was up there sitting in the saddle she had decided the horse was just way too big. The biggest surprise of the day was while we were having the kids faces painted and we heard Noah's name called out as the winner of a $100 mastercard gift card. By the time we left the kids were exhausted. After lunch we hit Target and let Noah pick out what ever he wanted. He picked Indiana Jones (go figure!) and Batman legos and even let Rachel pick out a little something for herself too. It was cute. He was very excited and pleased to get new legos 'just because'. It was also nice seeing that the basket that I put together for our homeroom for auction was one of the top sellers. Very cool! =)
