We took the kids back up to Metcalf Bottoms today so Doug could go on the Little Greenbrier Schoolhouse hike and we ventured on to the Walker Sisters Cabin. I loved taking the kids up again and it is such good exercise too. They loved being outside and seeing the cabin, springhouse and corncrib. We enjoyed looking through the cabin, in the kitchen room, the main area and climbing up into the loft. I enjoyed showing the kids the old well and just down from there was the springhouse where they would keep perishable items cool from the coolness of the water it was built over. The kids really seemed to enjoy our day and the hike and learning a little about their mama's family and heritage. Love that. Read more about the Walker Sister's Cabin.
