Running Club

Noah signed up for Running Club at the beginning of the school year. Doug and I were pretty proud of him because he did it on his own. Because he wanted to. He loves it. Every time I pick him up after it's over he tells me he can't wait until next time. I don't know where he gets that from, but I love it! He was sore after the first couple from doing lunges. We got to watch the tail end of today's session because we were at the school for a conference with Rachel's teacher. It was pretty cool to watch him.

Furby

Noah got a Furby from Santa, for Christmas this past year and he totally fell in love with it. Really, I fell in love with the darn thing too - So when he stopped working we were all kind of bummed. Noah much more so than the rest of us. I felt terrible because I had stripped the screw on him when I was changing his batteries - yes, it was all my fault. Yes - I broke Noah's heart. Yes, it sucked. Utterly. I went to Target to see if they had one just like the one I had broken while he was at a sleep over with a friend. No luck. I called 6 other stores within driving distance. Nope - No aqua Furby to be found. So, I did the next best thing- I got the one that looked the most like the aqua one. He cried. I cried. He's a good sport. He put his arms around me and told me it was okay as he cried. Talk about guilt. Even Rachel cried. She felt so badly for her brother that she made this picture for him that said: "To: Noah - Blue Furby I no (know) what is on my Christmas list and I am giving him to you. Dear Noah I am sorre (sorry) that your furby broc (broke). I liked it." She has a big heart and didn't want Noah to be so hurt.
He opened the new Furby. He got to know him. Darned if that Furby didn't stop working the second time we put batteries in him. We headed back to Target and exchanged him for one that looked just like it. Noah loves this new one too - thank goodness. Poor guy. Luckily, he's still working good. Crossing fingers he keeps on working. If not, we are going to exchange his furry little butt for some Legos!

Rachel's 100th Day of School Project

She had to make a picture with 100 things on it. So glad I had something that was 'girly' enough for her!!

Tonight's Moon

A friend tagged me on FB tonight, asking if I could get a good shot of the moon. I did my best. :) I love the moon. A full moon always, always makes me think of my dad. No idea why, but it always has....  Aperture at f/11, ISO 100, 1/250. Click on the picture for a better view.

No School Tomorrow!

Their sweet faces when they found out that school had been canceled!! :)

It's SNOWING!!! --- Snow At Mamaw's House

The snow started coming down about a block from Mamaw's house on our drive there. Kate was so, so super excited and started squealing as soon as she saw the flakes falling. All the kids were super happy and excited and couldn't wait to get out in it to play. We did have them wait a bit, because we had had so much rain for days before the snow started falling and there were lakes in the yard.... Mom was so sweet to go out and scoop up a bowl for the kids to make a little snowman with. They got him all shaped and added raisin eyes, a carrot nose and a scarf made from ric-rac. Kate was so, so happy with this little 'Frosty' and she immediately had Mom put him in her freezer for safe keeping. I wonder when the next time she asks to peek at him will be. :) When there was a bit of snow on the ground and they couldn't contain their excitement, we let them loose in the front yard because there was much less standing water. They loved making snow angels and drawing in the snow. I love to see how their imaginations work - as usual. They were thrilled to be out in that wet, fluffy white stuff, even if just for a little while....
