Somebody Had A Great First Day!! Yay!!
Kate absolutely loved her first day of Kindergarten! She told me she painted a handprint, colored some pictures, went outside twice to play, had music class, played with blocks, had some books read to her, met all the Kindergarten teachers, ate lunch in the lunchroom, drew on a blue board, and played with balloons. She said her favorite part was the balloons. She had a lot of fun and can't wait to go back. She also said she loved Mrs. Glover and hopes she is her real teacher. So sweet. So very glad she had a great day!
Kate's 1st Day of Kindergarten: Kindergarten Kickoff!
Today was the day… the day that I drop my youngest baby off for Kindergarten… I have dreaded this day since the day she was born… But it wasn't too hard when I knew how excited she was to finally, finally go to the big school, to Kindergarten, just like Noah and Rachel. She was happy and excited to be there and that made it so much easier as I left her playing with sticky blocks in her classroom. Mrs. Glover had been the teacher that evaluated her the day before and she was comfortable with her. It is such a blessing having kids who want to be at school. I did tear up as I made my way back to the car…

Kindergarten Screening
First Day of School: 6th & 3rd Grade
…and they're off! To 6th and 3rd grades and there's nothing I can do to make the time go by slower… Where has the time gone? Seriously!?! How are they in 6th and 3rd grades?! They both were excited to go and see their friends and to get the school year started. So nice when they're happy and eager to go. I miss them so much when they first go back after our summer together. Looking forward to all they'll get to learn and experience this year.

3rd Grade Open House for Rachel
When Rachel and I went to check the door on Monday for her class list and find out who her teacher was, neither of us recognized Mrs. Stinnett's name… She was just happy to see that there were a couple of her friends in class with her this year. I was so pleased when we walked into the classroom that night to realize who Mrs. Stinnett is. We have seen her and spoken with her many times over each summer at the summer reading program. It was so good to see a familiar face as her teacher and to know it was one that I knew and liked. That's always a good thing. :) We had open house and it looks like its going to be a good year for Rachel. Yay!
Back to School Supply Shopping!!
The kids are always so excited to go and pick out their new school supplies each year. It always seems to help soften the blow of summer ending and school beginning. Kate was thrilled to be included in this year's shopping trip. Rachel picked out everything pink and purple… as usual. Noah was just happy to be there, I think. He is getting so big and isn't quite as impressed with the new supplies, but was happy to be along for the ride. :)
