I think she had a good day. :) She woke up to some birthday lovin' and got to open the two presents she decided to save for her actual birthday - the Starbucks card she so badly wanted for mocha frappacinos (her favorite) and a big box of sparkly nail polishes. Made for a happy girl. Then it was off to school where they had brunch because it was an early dismissal day and we took birthday cupcakes in to her class to celebrate. She was so excited because the principal called her up to the office for the announcements and announced her birthday over the loud speaker where she also got a birthday sticker and special pencil. Doug picked the kids up and swung by Starbucks where she got to go in and order her frappacino and they wrote "Happy Birthday Rachel!" on her cup. So cute! After that we headed over to moms to visit with Aunt Amie, Olivia and David, who are in to celebrate Thanksgiving with us. Everyone was there and we all had a lot of fun playing. Definitely good times. :) Our evening ended with us at Firehouse and then home for a birthday cupcake before baths and bed. I'm so glad she had such a great day. Love you so much Rachel!!!!

Tomorrow She'll Be 6 Years Old...
'Birth' Day - November 23, 2005
5th Birthday
Tomorrow She'll Be 6.... It is impossible that she is already turning 6 years old. It seems like only yesterday she was just here - so tiny and demanding. She was everything girly and pink right from the start. So different from her brother and just as precious in every way. She has been changing a lot this year - starting Kindergarten and so, so proud and happy to be there. She is doing so well in school and loving every minute of it. She loves her new friends and her teachers. She lost a couple of teeth this year and has the cutest grin right now. Her little face is covered in freckles and I see more of myself in her now than ever before. She is still taking gymnastics and is excelling at it - and she loves it (which thrills Doug and I). She adores having 'make overs' and painting her (and mine and Kate's!) nails and getting all dressed up. There is nothing better than wearing a skirt or a dress even though Mom makes her wear pants on gym days... She is a sweet little girl that brings love and light to our lives everyday. Love you so much, Rachel!!! I know you are so excited to be 6 tomorrow!

Rachel's 6th Birthday Party!
Today we celebrated Rachel turning 6 with friends and family at our house. She was so excited to be able to invite friends from school this year! We had 10 little girls and 5 boys running around the house today and she had a wonderful time with all of them. We started the party with Littlest Pet Shop coloring sheets and playing while we waited for everyone to arrive. Cake, ice cream, cupcakes, cake pops, lots of marshmallows and fruit with cool whip were up next for the kids. Loved seeing Rachel blow out her candles when everyone finished singing to her. So sweet! She got them all in the first try too! After cake the kids wanted to run and play, so the adults had a chance to sit and enjoy some cake before we got things ready for them to make animal balloons. After the animal balloons were done it was finally time for Rachel to open her presents! She was sooo excited! She received lots of really nice things and couldn't wait to start playing with them with everyone. So much fun! I'm so glad she enjoyed her birthday celebration so much. :) It is just so hard to believe my big girl is turning 6 in just a few short days. Love her so, so much!

Kindergarten Fire Station Trip
I was so happy to be able to go to Fire Station 3 today with Rachel's class. We had tried a couple of times before today, but were rained out. Mrs. Johnson called me personally this morning to let me know the trip was a go and would I be coming? So sweet of her to call after Rachel asked her to make sure I knew about the trip. I wouldn't miss it for the world. :) We walked over (skipping over all the rain puddles - yes, it rained again!) and the kids were all so good and listened so well to Fireman Mike and Fireman Mark. Rachel's room really seems like a great group of kids. After touring the fire house and climbing into and all over the fire truck, we headed back to school where I got to have lunch with Rachel and two of her friends. I was informed by Gracie that she and Rachel were the 'bestest' of friends -so sweet! Loved seeing several pieces of Rachel's art hanging on the walls while I was visiting. Rachel seems to love going to school and being in Kindergarten. I am so glad she is enjoying it so much.
