Wouldn't you know, the same day we made our Santa cookies, Olivia and David invited us to make them with them and Emma, Chloe & Lydia. Lots of fun and lots and lots of sugar! :)
Every year we make Christmas cookies, or as the kids like to call them, Santa cookies. These are the ones they love to leave out for Santa on Christmas Eve. We made sure to make the a little closer to Christmas this year so they would be fresh for him! :) The kids did a great job this year. They worked hard rolling out the dough and cutting out their shapes. Even Kate got in on the cutting with her cookie cutters... well, her first cookie, then she liked to stack the cutters... and then she liked trying them on like braclets. So cute! Noah and Rachel also did a terrific job icing the cookies. They did all the work themselves this year, icing each and every cookie just the way they liked them. It did my heart proud to see them pay such attention to detail! Love that! Kate didn't ice cookies, but a few minutes after I set the tray on the table I noticed one of the little people cookies head was broken. I wondered about this because none of the cookies had broken. In a minute or so when I went back to the table I noticed another little person cookie with a broken head... I was wondering what was happening to our cookies (which kid was taking bites, that is...) when Kate walked into the kitchen biting the head off of another little person cookie... then she quietly placed it back on the table... so funny.
Wishing all of you a very Merry Christmas spent with the people you love - We hope you have a wonderful and magical holiday with family and friends and if we don't see you for the holidays this year, please know you are in our hearts!
Chris and Christina held a wonderful family Christmas party this past weekend. It was great to see everyone and the food - Wow! It was wonderful! The kids all ran around and played while we enjoyed talking and laughing together. It was a great night - Good food, Good fun, Great family! Thanks again guys! The link above will take you to a whole album of photos from the party. :)
The kids love, love, love to make cookies. Every Christmas we make cookies. Lots of them. :) Usually we'll make gingerbread cookies and also sugar cookies. They know they get to cut out all the shapes and then they get to ice the sugar cookies. Traditionally we haven't decorated the gingerbread cookies, but this year we were invited to a party where there is a cookie swap. So after the kids had cut all the shapes out and they had baked and cooled, I added a finishing touch with some white icing. Yum!
