6 Weeks Old

Six weeks old today - it's going fast! She is working really hard to hold her punkin head up and she's doing really well with it. She has times during the day when she is very alert and likes to watch to see what's going on. She's definitely smiling and gave some really big grins tonight, which was nice since she had a bit of a fussy day. We're praying colic isn't setting in and hoping it's just a quirky day. She's as cute as she can be and really starting to fill out (just look at the belly in that top picture!). When I took her to the doctor the other day she weighed in at 8lbs, 14.5 ounces, but she had on a onesie and her diaper at the visit.

Happy Mother's Day!

I wanted to wish all the Mama's out there a very happy Mother's Day today! I was treated to lunch at one of my favorite resturaunts and had lots of snuggles from my three favorite kiddos. Sending out special Mother's Day wishes to my Mom and also to Doug's Mom - Hope both of you had a special day as well!

First Smiles

Just in time for Mother's Day! How sweet is that?? We knew she was going to be smiling soon... she has been crinkling up her eyes at us for the last couple of days in half smiles - smiling with her eyes... Today while she was laying on the bed and I was talking to her she broke out in this little grin... I had the camera in my hand and snapped a picture without even having it to my face because I was caught off gaurd, but just happened to be holding the camera! (Cool!) So, to test that it wasn't a fluke I kept trying to coax her to smile again and she rewarded me with several more so I knew they were the real thing!
Rachel and her Pixos... Cracks me up. For the record... Pixos suck. ;)

Playdate!

Rachel, Kate and I got together with Dawn, Rylan and Austin at BK for a playdate one morning last week. It is the first playdate we've had since Kate was born and it was cute to see how curious Austin was about her - especially when his Mommy held her (ofcourse!). =) I love to watch Rachel and Rylan play together - they always seem to have so much fun! It won't be long before Austin is running around after them as well. Love that last picture of him - Isn't he a cutie?!

Tallest Kid In His Class.... And On The Soccer Team!

Check him out! A whole head taller than the rest of the kids on his team! It's just nuts, but it's cool! He's also one of the youngest on the team... Crazy stuff... The bad thing is everyone thinks he's 8 or 9 and in actuality he turned 6 in late February... As Doug likes to say, hopefully his height will win him a scholarship later on in life! =) He only has 2 more soccer games left. I have really enjoyed the season this year... he's doing AWESOME -He scored 3 goals at his game last Saturday!! Woooo hooooooo! It's been great to watch him having fun. Good times!

Sister Love

I see a lot of this during the day here at our house... Rachel loves to look at her little sister - just watch her. She sings to her when she cries and also when she's happy. She tries to help her by trying to give her her binky when she's fussy. She loves to stroke the top of her head, kiss her on the head and also give her hugs... I am loving watching this love grow each and every day. =)

Sprinkler Weather..... Finally

Our kids love to play in water - no matter what kind of water it is... Rachel has been asking me for weeks now when we were going to be able to get a new slip n slide and also when were they going to be able to play in the sprinklers? Oh, and were we going to be able to get a pool this year? (We didn't last year due to moving... and probably won't this year for the same reason). Yesterday it was hot - hot enough to run around in the sprinklers... and the kids were thrilled. It was nice to watch them run around and enjoy themselves. Kate was happy to just lay on the bench with me in the shade. I'm so glad good weather is here!!

One Month Old

Kate is one month old today! She had her one month appointment this morning and she now weighs 8 pounds 2 ounces and measures 21 inches long. She is growing steadily and we are happy about that. =) She's still wearing Newborn sized clothing and Newborn diapers, also wearing some 0-3 outfits that don't just swallow her up. Her hair is still thick so far - Everyone seems to think she's going to lose it, but I'm not so sure... Her eyes are still clear blue. She is just as cute as she can be and is really becoming more alert as each day goes by. We are all still just thrilled that she is here and absolutely adore her!

Officially Up For Sale -

Our house is officially up for sale! Wow... okay, so we're trading my dream house for our 'dream hometown' so, it's good! We are moving home to the Knoxville, Tennessee area in mid to late July (in time to get Noah ready for school there August 3rd). Doug has happened on the chance of a lifetime in a position at TYS, the Knoxville airport and it will take us full circle to where it all began and to where we have spent the last 13 years of our life together trying to get back to. Home. It's definitely a good thing. We look forward to it and we hope that the house here in Senoia sells quickly - please cross your fingers for us and say a few prayers!

4 Weeks Old Today

Wow... four weeks old already... Where is the time going??? It's hard to believe our sweet little bundle has been with us for almost a month already! She's doing really good - We know she is gaining weight because she is really filling out the newborn clothes now, although most of the 0-3 outfits are still looking giant on her. She has her 1 month appointment with Dr. Goza on Thursday and it will be good to see how much more weight she has gained. That second photo - a hint of a smile there - I think lots of smiles aren't too far away as she is really paying attention to us when we talk to her now. She will track us with her eyes when we are in front of her and also if I come near and talk to her, she looks for me. Love that. It will be interesting to watch her personality bloom. She is natured much like her brother was as a baby - pretty laid back and easy going. The only thing that seems to bother her is if she has a bit of a tummy ache. The best thing is that she's a snuggly baby - loves being cuddled up and wouldn't mind if you held her in your arms all day long...
