Jump Zone!

The day before we headed to St. Louis I took the kids over to Jump Zone. We met up with several of Noah's friends from school and the kids had a lot of fun running through the play zone and jumping and sliding like crazy. I think this is probably one of the kids favorite places to go. Right up there with Rock Creek and Chuck E Cheese. I love to see the grins on these guys faces as they play and bounce. =) Lots of pictures of our trip to St. Louis to come. Stay Tuned!

Playing

Some quick pictures of the kids. I haven't had my camera out much lately. I'm struggling just to get the normal stuff done, so please forgive me! I'm praying that in a couple of weeks I will start feeling human again. ;) The kids have been playing great together, although we are starting to see the little sister/brother spats that always happen. It had been smooth sailing until here lately, and I'm sure it won't slow down anytime soon... perhaps until they are adults? Rachel was hamming for the camera while Noah was hiding. That's pretty typical. He warmed up soon though because Phoebe came to play with him. Hope you're all doing well. We're enjoying having Amie here with us as she begins her new job and life here in Little Rock. The kids think she's here just for them and have been loving every minute of her attention.

Her Favorite Princess? Snow White

Rachel loves Snow White. She has loved her (or rather her dress) ever since Amie got her the Snow White dress for her birthday. Since then every time she sees anything Snow White in the stores, she gets so excited. I finally pulled out all the Disney movies in our cabinet about a month ago and we started going through them and watching them. It is pure magic watching the kids reactions to the movies. Rachel is so into everything princess and Noah loves the Jungle Book, Lion King and the Fox and the Hound. I love seeing how much they enjoy these movies because I loved them so much as a kid myself (still do!). You can see above how into the movie she is and in the one with the scarey part, she's yelling "Uh-oh Mommy!!". She was glad when she saw that Snow White was OK. She can also sometimes con Noah into dancing with her during the musical parts. He's cute, he sits by waiting with his sword in hand for the prince to show up.

Captain Scuba Duck and Princess Pinkalicious

We were cracking up at the kids this evening. We hit Toys R Us today looking for new Star Wars (Noah has filled his old one up Grammy =) and Barbie coloring books and while we were there Rachel found Barbie and Scooby Doo swim floaties and goggles. Who knew these would turn you into some kind of cool super hero when you wear them over your clothes and run around the front yard. Hey, it's cool with me. We got lots of laughs as we took our evening walk and the kids just had to wear they're new gear. Of course Doug and I look forward to seeing them actually swim in them at the hotel in a couple of weeks when we head up to St. Louis.

Easter Morning

A few more pictures from Easter morning. I meant to put these on here yesterday, but it was a bit of a busy day. The kids had a great day and were thrilled with what the Easter Bunny left for them. Noah thought it really odd though, that the Easter Bunny had left the baskets in the kitchen this year... and he had always left them in the living room in the past... that child remembers the oddest things. I'll have to let the Easter Bunny know not to do that next year... They each also loved finding the eggs that he left for them in the front yard. It was a mad rush when they realized that there were eggs outside the window and they needed to be found and picked up!! Forgive Rachel's bed head in the top pictures - It was super early and I didn't get a chance to run a comb through my wild woman's hair. =)

Coloring Easter Eggs

The kids had so much fun coloring Easter eggs today. I have to admit, it was a pretty funny experience for Doug and I as well. This was Rachel's first year to color eggs and she was hysterical to watch. I boiled a dozen eggs giving each child 6 to color. Rachel tried really hard to drop hers in gently with the egg holder, but the first one hit the bottom of the cup with a crack. The next one she safely dropped in with her hand and that was good, because that was the pink egg. The next four she chucked (quite literally) into the remaining cups of color (we were lucky they weren't all cracked!). It was really cute to watch though as she was so excited. Noah, being the experienced egg colorer did really good and only cracked one as he tried to take it out of the cup and lay it on a paper towel. Out of 12 eggs, there were only 3 casualties which were quickly eaten up. True to their favorite colors, Rachel's eggs were more pastel, while Noah's were more the vibrant primary colors. You can see Rachel pointing out her favorite - the pink one, of course. I loved them all. =)
