Easter Bunny 2004

Noah was so cute this year when we took him to see the Easter Bunny. He was a little afraid of Santa this past Christmas so we were prepared for tears, but he surprised us - He loved the Easter Bunny. He laughed loudly and patted his face. I was very relieved that he enjoyed his second time seeing the Easter Bunny. Sweet memories for sure.

There Goes My Life...

That was what I was thinking as I was walking behind the two most important men in my life. My love, my best friend, my husband and my baby boy - There goes my life. <3

Daycare

I love having you in my room at work now. Since you turned one, you have moved up into the toddler room where I am and it is such a joy to be able to watch you play and learn along side of me. Definitely makes for a much happier mama.

Bath Time

Poor Noah - He kept ear infections for most of his first 18 months. This was a common sight - cotton in his ears. We tried hard to keep the water out and keeping him healthy. He didn't mind a bit. He wouldn't bother them, would play like crazy. Such a good and sweet little guy.

First Steps

Noah took his first steps today! We were practicing with him walking him back and forth on the floor between us holding onto his fingers as he walked. We decided it was time to let go and let him balance on his own and try to take a step or two. He did! It was so exciting for all of us!!! I was so glad I got to witness those first precious steps!

St. Patrick's Day

Happy St. Patrick's Day! Noah celebrated in green along with us this year - no pinches for him! He was so cute in his little outfit and even had little alligator shoes that matched. He is really crawling around and pulling up on things now. Love seeing his little tush as he crawls through the house!

We Got A Little Snow....

We got a little bit of snow... ha ha ha... Doug just loves to shovel snow. He was sweet though, he did make a path for the dogs to get out to the back yard. I'm sure they appreciated it, I know I did. Noah got all bundled up for his first 'snow play' experience. He wasn't sure what to think - he knew it was cold though!

Tubes: Myringotomy -- 1st Surgery

Noah's First Surgery: March 5th of 2004 Noah had to go into the hospital for Myringotomy Tube Surgery. He was such a wee little man to be having to go through this and Doug and I were a little worried, although hoping it would bring him some relief fro all the ear infections he had been having. We checked into Mercy Medical Center at 7am and they took him back to do the surgery at 8:15 after giving him a mild sedative. It took Dr. Kenny about 10 minutes to put the tubes in Noah's ears and then he had to go to recovery for about 25 minutes. We couldn't go into the surgery suite with him and I waited impatiently right outside of recovery until they brought him out to me. I could hear him crying as they walked down the hall towards us and I could not wait to get him back into my arms. When we got him back into our little room at outpatients he was one grumpy little guy. We put drops in his ears and gave him Tylenol for pain for the next couple of days. He was such a little trooper though. We were definitely glad he made it through with no problems and are praying it helps his ears.

Changes

Last Friday was your very first birthday and what a bash it was. Your Grammy and Papa came in to help us celebrate it with us. You have changed so much in the past year. It seems as though you are doing new things so much more often now. So much to learn and do and such a small boy still. Just today I nursed you for the last time. It is a great joy to know that I accomplished my goal of nursing you for the first full year of your life. I will miss this closeness with you. You moved up to the Duckling Room (Mommy's room) at work and I am enjoying spending each day with you. What a great joy to know that I will get to see each milestone- each and every new thing that you may do. Just in the last week you are making new sounds (finally saying Dada). You are balancing more and it won't be much longer before you are taking those first tentative steps on your own. It has been such a wonderful year. It has truly gone by in the blink of an eye. I will miss you as my baby boy, but I look forward to our times together in the years to come as you grow and continue to accomplish so much. I love you Noah.

Happy 1st Birthday Noah!!!!

Happy 1st Birthday Noah!!! It is amazing to think that it has been one whole year since you were born. It seems like only yesterday you were making your arrival into our little family. Each and every day with you is a new and joyous blessing. We celebrated your first birthday with your favorite character - Elmo! Grammy and Papa flew out to join us on your special day. You were excited by the birthday balloons that we got for your birthday bash. You loved yanking on them and they made you laugh when they would bop you on the head. You worked your way through all the gifts that you recieved with a little help from Mom and Dad. But I think your favorite part of your day was definitely the cake. You did a good job eating your little Elmo 'smash cake' and got icing everywhere! I loved seeing how much you enjoyed it. It has been an incredible year, Little Man. We absolutely adore you and look forward to so many years and birthdays ahead. We love you!
