Katherine Rebecca Hornback

Katherine Rebecca (also known as our sweet Baby Kate) joined our family on Monday, March 30th at 1:33 pm. She is perfect weighing in at 7 pounds and 10.4 ounces and measured 20 and a half inches long. She has blue eyes and a headful of reddish blonde hair. The hair was a bit of a shock as Noah and Rachel were both born pretty much little bald babies. She is very well natured and seems to have a sweet personality so far. The kids were so excited to meet their new sister. Noah was just tickled and walked around with a grin on his face. Rachel was a little bit quiet but said she was happy to meet her new sister and liked holding her and giving her kisses. We were lucky to have my mom here with us to help out and she has been a great blessing as we have had a longer stay at the hospital than anticipated (but that will be in another post). All I can say is just - Wow... Our family is complete and we all could not love her more...

Monkey Bars and Tire Swings

We took the kids out to the park earlier this week - the weather had been gorgeous in the seventies and we enjoy watching the kids play and have fun together so much. The kids favorite thing lately is the tire swing. Rachel likes to do big swinging loops on it and Noah likes to do tight twirls that will make him really dizzy when he gets off. It's been so nice to have Spring weather finally- I know we're all ready to be spending more time outside!

Happy St.Patrick's Day!

The one thing Noah loves to do is to make other people laugh. When I pulled out this hat and asked him if
if he wanted to wear it to school today he was very excited. When I dropped him off at school he went running into the building with the biggest smile on his face... I love my boy. He can always give me a smile when I need one. Rachel is very excited about St. Patrick's day too and we had to search for a green shirt for her... green is just not a color I usually think of for her. Thank goodness for big brother hand me downs! =)

Glow Golf and Bowling @ Junction Lanes

We all ventured out for some fun at Junction Lanes in Newnan yesterday - It was the kids first experience with putt-putt and bowling. They both seemed to have a lot of fun. It was a cool mini golf set up in a darkened room with a lot of glow paint and black lights. My pictures don't do it justice as to take them without the flash would have been horribly blurry - I did try! I have some videos I'm trying to make a little smaller for easier upload - but for now here are some pictures of our adventure. Noah did really good at times with the mini golfing and at other times would just whack the ball as hard (and as often) as he could. He shows promise though (I may make a golfer of him yet... lol). Rachel liked to hit it with the pointed end of 'the stick' - she's still a ways away from taking it any kind of seriously, but she had fun and it was actually pretty fun and funny to watch her whacking at the ball. Luckily we had the whole glow golf place to ourselves so they could 'practice' on close by holes while Doug and I took our turns. Bowling was a lot of fun - I have only bowled maybe twice in my life - (By the way, can you imagine a nine month pregnant woman bowling??? -HA! - I was secretly hoping it would start labor, but no luck.) Noah got to bowl with the bumpers up and he would try his best to throw the ball down the lane as hard as he could... some five minutes later when it finally knocked down the pins he would cheer loudly for himself as one or two pins were knocked down. As I said before, video coming soon! Doug was like an old pro - very graceful (I don't really know how bowling can be graceful, but he does it)... We played two games - I won the first one by one point with a 107 and Doug kicked my butt the second game. Poor Rachel couldn't even lift the ball, much less throw it or even get enough ooomph to roll it down the lane... she was such a sweet girl to sit and watch the rest of us play. I hope we get to go again soon!

2 Goals!!!

Noah had his first soccer game today with the Strikers - a team with the Peachtree City Lazers Soccer Organization. He really did well and scored two goals himself! I loved seeing the look on his face after he scored those two goals. He was a little timid before going so I was a little worried, but once he got in there and met the kids, he did fine. He ran good and got into the middle of things trying to get at the ball. As usual, he is a head taller than all the other kids and also is one of the youngest ones on his team. The season started today with the first game and he has his first practice next Friday (I'm not sure why they start the season with a game and not a practice, but such it was...). We're looking forward to watching him play in the coming season.
