Rachel was so very excited for Field Day at her school. I think the *biggest* thing about Field Day (quite literally- haha) is the climbing wall. Rachel had talked about it all year -- She only made it about a third of the way up last year before she froze. This year she intended to conquer it and conquer it, she did! She did great! She made it all the way to the top and rang the bell. Good job, Rachel!! She said she had a blast all day with lots of races in the morning, yoga, dance, obstacle courses, jump houses and more. Doug and I went and watched the dance class, had lunch with her, watched the jump houses and then watched her conquer the wall. We were so proud of her for facing her fear and kicking it in the backside!

Strawberry Plains Soccer Game -- 11-0 Win
Yep, it was a smack-down. The boys played hard and they played good and the other team just couldn't manage them today. Almost every kid on our team scored today! I was sad that I missed Noah's goal as I had to take the wee girl to the bathroom, but I made sure to scream and cheer when everyone was yelling to me on my way back. Ha! So proud of all these boys for playing so well and seeming to have so much fun together. They are a good group of kids and I will be sad to see the season end. Last game - next week!
Star Wars LEGO Build at Toys R US
Our good friends Renee and Alex invited us to attend a Lego Build at Toys R Us today to build one of the Sith fighter ships out of Legos. Noah was ecstatic and couldn't wait to go! He finished his ship in about 3 minutes flat, but he was thrilled with it. Anything for new (and free!) Legos. The girls enjoyed themselves also, although it did take them a little while longer to finish their ships....

The Jungle Book -- Field Trip With Rachel's Class
On Friday, Doug, Kate and I had the opportunity to attend the play, The Jungle Book, at the Clayton Center with Rachel's class. It was a really cute show and the girls really enjoyed it. Rachel loved all the costumes and all the songs and Kate's favorite part was the elephants. I loved all of it. Very cute and well put together. Rachel got to sit with Doug, Kate and I and she was thrilled that her daddy had come along on her field trip to be with her. Love.
Noah's Buffalo Knife Project: The Flatboat
Noah and Doug enjoyed making this flatboat together for Noah's class project for the book, Buffalo Knife. He had to turn his project in this morning and next Thursday, the kids will all walk to Pistol Creek in the park and race their boats. Noah is excited to see if his will be a fast contender. He had to make it as much like the description of the boat in the book as he could. I know he loved making the boat with Doug. It will be fun to watch it float down the creek. Good times.

Montgomery Ridge Art Show
Noah had a piece of art selected for display at his school's Art Show this past week. He was so proud to take us in to the library where there were a few pieces from each grade on display. His piece was a snowy owl picture that he had collaged. The whole 4th grade had made pictures based on their class theme (Noah's is the owl, the other theme is the cardinal) and Noah's was one of the few selected to be in the show. Mom, Rachel, Kate and I accompanied him to see all the art. There were some really great pieces on display! The bottom photo shows more of Noah's art that was sent home the other day. I thought these 'screenings' were so cool and vibrant looking! I love that he loves art. Keep up the good work, Noah!
