First Day of Kindergarten - Class of 2021

Wow, that was harder than I thought it would be. Noah did great! He didn't get nervous until we were walking down the hallway and then it was just for a second. He walked right in, checked in at Miss Jackie's desk, hung up his backpack, said hello to his teacher, (kissed Mom goodbye), then sat on the rug with other kids playing with blocks... and that was when I had to make my exit... I wish I could be a ladybug on the wall today. And so it begins....

...and later....

Noah had a great day at school today! He said he had a lot of fun, made some new friends, read the Bearstein Bears Go to School, sang some songs, wrote numbers, made a bear, played with little tiny blocks, said the alphabet, ate lunch, took a nap and didn't get to play outside (he was kind of sad about that). He said his favorite part of the day was lunchtime - eating his lunch I had packed in his Star Wars lunch box. He said he played with two little boys named Bryson and Hunter, he had a lot of fun and that he really likes his teachers. It sounds like he did indeed have a good day and that makes for a happy mom and dad. =)

Hello Kindergarten!

Noah had his Kindergarten Orientation today from 12 -2. He met his teacher Mrs. Futral and his teacher's aide, Miss Jackie, saw his classroom, how to get there, the cafeteria, the library and the ever important - boys restroom. I think we're ready for tomorrow, or I should say, I think he's ready... I don't know if I'll ever be ready... =) He seems excited though, so that is a good thing. More photos to come tomorrow and perhaps a recap of his day after he gets home.

Fun at the 'New Park'

The kids love to go the "New Park". I hear that quite a bit from Rachel, "Let's go to the new park, Mommy". She loves to swing. She could spend the whole trip to the park or even the whole day swinging and she'll be quick to tell you she wants to go high and fast. Noah likes to do it all and seems to enjoy the big climbing structure the most. After all the cool parks we had in Little Rock I was glad to find this one in Downtown Senoia. I was a little worried that we wouldn't find a good one since we are kind of out in the sticks, but we weren't disappointed - the kids love it. Hurray for a good park. =)

"Mommy, I not widdle anymore!!!"

Rachel has been doing awesome with being potty trained! She is very excited about wearing her big girl panties and being 'big'. She loves to say "Mommy (or Daddy or Grammy or etc...) I not widdle anymore!". It's so cute to hear her say. She is very into being big and doing big girl stuff. We're so proud of her!

The Gap

Noah showing off his gap. =) He's missing his front two bottom teeth! He just lost the second one a few days after we got to Georgia. He is getting to be such a big boy.

A Big Adventure

We love our backyard and it's funny to hear the kids talk about 'the woods'. They are very aware that there are lots of animals that live there including deer, rabbits, squirels, snakes, all kinds of bugs and spiders and lots of other animals. Noah kept asking to go on a big adventure so on the second or so day we were here, we all set out on an adventure to explore 'the woods' or the backyard. =) While we were traipsing around out there we heard a rooster crowing and Rachel immediately thought it was a wolf howling... I'm not sure exactly how that connection was made, but the rest of us kept trying to convince her that it was a harmless rooster crowing. Now she is afraid of the rooster that lives in the woods that makes the scary noises. She cracks us up, as usual. She won't even play in the sandbox outside if that rooster is crowing.
Doug and I have always wanted to own land with woods on them. Lots of land, but not so much mowing. We love that when we sit in our kitchen or living room when we look outside, this is what we see. The first week and a half we were here we saw deer every day. That is so cool! =)

The 4th of July

We had a lot of fun on the 4th of July this year. Doug had to work that night, so he played with snappers with Noah (Rachel was napping) and they had a good time throwing them at one another (and at me!). Noah thought they were pretty cool and had a good time playing with them. Later after a serious down pour of a rain storm we spent the evening with Aunt Amie and the kids having a cook out, making smores and going over to watch the fireworks. It was a nice day for all of us. =)
