'Hello' from Georgia!

Hello from Georgia! We are finally all moved in, and yes, we finally....... finally have Internet access! Yay! However, we are having a bit of trouble with it and I can't seem to get our many photos we want to share with all of you to upload to Blogger. So, here is some of the news we want to share with you guys----
We are mostly unpacked with only a couple of boxes of my scrapbook supplies left to open. The kids have done great with the move - I am registering Noah for Kindergarten tomorrow (cross your fingers I can find the registration office in the morning) and we have gotten all of the supplies he needs to begin school on August 5th - Yes, our first baby starts school in just two weeks - it seems crazy!!! Since arriving in Georgia he has lost his second tooth and gotten his very first library card! He is big time now and he is feeling important. He was cute picking out his backpack today for school - his Indiana Jones backpack (his latest craze).
Rachel decided that even though we had undergone many, many changes in the last couple of weeks she was ready to enter the world of the big girl and has worn panties for over a week with only a couple of small accidents. She is doing terrific using the big girl potty and isn't looking back! She has been excited about the new house and especially the 'new park', but has been a bit of a cling-on wanting Mom to hold her when ever possible.
We just had a great visit with Grammy and Papa who came down for the weekend (Thanks again guys, we had a great time!!) and it was a lot of fun for us. We did a lot of exploring while they were here (Thanks also for being patient with the getting lost and trying to find 'the quickest way') . Darla helped me pick out some great flowers for the front porch and I am excited to have my first pots of pretty flowers to take care of. Doug starts work at the new place tomorrow and seems pretty excited. I have enjoyed having him home with us for the last couple of weeks. =)
Our biggest news is that we have a contract on the house in Little Rock and we will be set to close sometime at the end of August. This is great news for us with the realty market like it is right now. Please cross your fingers that all goes well and smoothly for us.
Anyway, that is a bit of a catch up for you - I've missed blogging and like I said, we have a ton of pictures to share as soon as we get this Internet thing worked out!!

Leaving Little Rock

In just a few short days we will be leaving Little Rock and the place we have called home for the past three and a half years. It has been a great time here in Arkansas for us. Doug has done well with his job at the Little Rock tower. We have grown as a family with our first baby growing into a young boy and the birth of our baby girl who is getting bigger everyday - she's hardly a baby at all anymore. We have made lots of friends here and had a lot of good times. Lots of laughs and joys and a few tears too. Little Rock has seen a lot happen for us and for the first time in almost 12 years of marriage and life together it will be a hard place for us to leave. I will miss our home here and our town - the convenience of having everything I want or need just a moment away. I will miss seeing the tower where Doug worked, the hospital where Rachel was born and the school that Noah attended.... the park where we played and all the memories we've made. The joy that having Amie close by has brought in the last few months as well - We will miss her and her family so much. Ofcourse the upside of moving is that we will be in a nice town with a nice new home just a very few hours from our family in Tennessee. We are looking forward to visiting more often than two or three times a year. Doug is very excited to be starting work at the tracon and getting settled into the training process. We spent the last week going to all of our favorite places and a few new ones here in town. We explored this bridge downtown and took some awesome pictures of the skyline. The kids enjoyed walking across and seeing the submarine, the river boat and the barges in the water. We took photos of a lot of our haunts here in Little Rock, including our favorite coffee shop, our favorite pizza place, Noah's school and lots of other places that have meaning for us. It's been a good three years here and we look forward to what Georgia holds for us. This will be our last time posting from Arkansas. Check back in a few days as our adventures get started in Georgia!

The Peabody Park

We went to the Peabody Park (Sponsored by The Peabody of Downtown Little Rock) this weekend and the kids had an amazing time. The park just recently opened (so recently that when we tried a week or two ago it as still being built) and Amie and I were excited to check it out and see what the kids thought. The park is amazing! Instead of the traditional playground it has underground tunnels with ladders and ropes to climb up. It has a huge tunnel slide and a space net climber. It has a lot of imaginative play areas and the kids had so much fun playing there... and it also has a splash pad!!! I have wanted to have one of these for the kids to play at in our town for so long and we finally get one when we are leaving the area. I think it is probably one of the coolest parks I have seen in a long time. We spent the good part of the day there with the kids playing in the park area first, then a bike ride down the path by the river's edge and then back to the splash pad. You can see in the pictures that Rachel recieved her little hand-me-down bike from David this week when he got his big boy bike. She loves it! She actually rides this little bike better than she rides her tricycle. It's cute to watch how excited she gets to ride it.
