"Just Keep Swimming, Swimming, Swimming" - Dory

Lots of fun in the pool. The kids loved swimming and playing with the water guns. Even the babies loved being in the pool and the hot tub. Good times.

Just out of the pool...

The Littlest Hornbacks

Just back from a visit to Houston, Texas where we met up for a mini family gathering. We had a great time and have lots of photos to share.
These photos are of the smallest of the Hornback families - Rachel, Eliot & Gail in their Tennessee/Texas 06 shirts.
Many, many more photos to come...

Her favorite toy...

at the moment is a ball - just about any ball. She loves rolling them, pushing them and chasing after them. Also the thing she loves best right now is just pulling up on something. Anything will do, as long as she doesn't fall over with it. You can't keep her still or stationary at all. She is so fast! Now she is beginning to pull up and balance on her own two feet without holding on. It's so cute to see her testing herself to see how long she can go without falling.

A peek into his world...

We hear it at least 100 times a day... "Let's play Thomas!" and when we do you haven't seen him happier. He likes to help set up a layout and then all you have to do is watch. Of course you are invited to play along, but if you don't, he doesn't really notice. As long as you are close by he will play for hours...

Learning to Write

Noah loves these dry erase placemats we got while we were in Tennessee. He loves to trace the letters and numbers and will do it over and over again. We like that he is so interested in it and also that he is learning while he plays with them. He is still learning how to hold the pen and still switches back and forth with hands, although he does heavily favor his left hand. He even managed to copy the letters of his name on a card he signed for his teacher today. He was so proud of himself. =)

10 Months Old Today

Rachel is 10 months old today! The year is flying by and before we know it she'll be turning 1. That is just a crazy thought for me. Seems like only yesterday she was a tiny baby. She is into everything! She is table walking and pulling up on everything. She crawls so fast and is around the corner and into something new before you can crack a smile at her. It is so funny to watch her as she goes about doing her own thing. She is starting to finally eat more big people food although it is still slow going - she still loves her baby food. She is starting to mimic things that we do like making faces at her, waving and sticking out her tongue. She's our sweetheart and we adore her.

Train Brain

This kid loves trains... He doesn't care if they are big, small, what color they are, what brand... he just loves trains. He saw a train in Cracker Barrel the other evening and it's been on his mind ever since. Today while we were out he told me that we needed to go to Cracker Barrel. He's a funny kid. He reminds Doug and I every single day what he wants Santa Claus to bring him and that Christmas is coming...

a little pink bow...

As silly as it may seem, Doug and I have been wanting to put bows in Rachel's hair for some time now... But she has such a small amount of hair that it has been nearly impossible... until now! I was in the scrapbook store yesterday talking with a mom of a 7 month old baby with a full head of hair and she let me in on a little secret of moms with bald baby girls... so today we have this tiny pink bow - and we love it... even if it is silly!
