Maryville -vs- Alcoa Football Game

Doug and I had fun attending the Maryville/Alcoa game last Sunday. It was so hot! The game was held at noon on Sunday because ESPN2 was televising it. Alcoa played a good game right up until the last 6 minutes... I believe the score ended up being 42 to 24. We had fun hanging out with our good friends, Laura and Brooks for the day. :)

A New Venture

As of August 20th, I have began a new adventure - that of being a 'work at home' mom. : ) I am so super excited to have this opportunity, thanks to my brother-in-law-extraordinaire, Christopher - to be able to work from home for 20-25 hours a week. I will be doing marketing research for Revolutions, Inc., a company based in Columbus, Oh that is made up of several companies that sell durable medical equipment. I am happy that I can help contribute to our family (mostly the kids college funds) and still be able to be at home during the day and with the kids after school. I am literally thrilled that I can wear my blue jeans, drink coffee and make money right from my own home office. What a wonderful world, this truly is.

Birthday Fun

Birthdays are always so much fun! The kids had a blast at Mekenzie's 6th birthday party at the McFee Splash Pad and Park. The kids had fun seeing their friends and playing in the splash pad and at Fort McFee!

Kate's Last Swim Lesson

Kate had her last swim lesson yesterday of the summer. We are so proud of her!!! She has exceeded all of our expectations this summer. Elisabeth has done an amazing job teaching her to swim and I know that Kate is so excited that she can get into the big pool and swim with Noah and Rachel and also jump off the diving board and swim to the side all on her own. I am sad to see this part of the summer ending -- Lots of great memories were made at the pool this summer with all the kids!!

World's Fair Park Fountains

We made a trip over to the World's Fair Park Fountains in Knoxville on Sunday. The kids love the fountains over there. It is a different water play experience from the basic splash pad. The water pressure is so much greater there. The kids love it! I thought Kate might have had trouble with so much water, but she did just fine. After a little while the kids all put on their goggles because of the chlorine content, but after that there were no worries. Rachel's friend Alex and her mom Renee went with us after we attended Build & Grow at Lowe's. It was a happy and busy Sunday.
