Racoon Romp!!!

The kids did a great job at the Raccoon Romp at their school today! Rachel was so excited and ran hard and fast as long as she could. She did a really super job and made 8 laps! After watching her race, we headed over to Noah's classroom to wait for his turn. He did a great job also finishing with 9 laps! We were very proud of both of the kids for all their hard work. We also like peeking into their school days and seeing what they do and who their buddies are. It was a very fun day for all of us!

Hat Day At School

As part of spirit week this week today was hat day! Noah wore his Texans hat - He wasn't sure if he wanted to wear it forwards or backwards, so we took a picture both ways! ;) Rachel wore her bug antenna with her cute monster outfit. They both looked great for hat day!

Crazy Hair Day At School

The kids had spirit week this week at Foothills Elementary School. They were both so excited to wear their hair as crazy as they could think to make it. Noah wanted his traditional mohawk and this year we sprayed it black with the left over Harry Potter hair spray. He was thrilled! Rachel decided on 5 braids, also spray painted black and a big orange bow. So funny! Kate always has crazy hair so we had to stick a quick picture of her in there too! :)

He Scored!!! (2nd Game)

Noah played in his second game on Saturday and he played really well! The team played great together and we were so proud of Noah for scoring one of the goals in the game! The teams ended up tying 2-2. After Noah scored his goal he was all smiles - as you can see in the picture above. One of the guys on the team even gave him a 'chest bump' - so funny. Love it! Great job Sharks!!

Owl Pellets

Do you know what an 'owl pellet' is? I had never heard of such a thing until Noah's teacher sent home a note letting us know the kids would be dissecting them.... Yes... I thought they would be dissecting owl poo - but no, thankfully this is what an owl pellet is:

"A pellet, in ornithology, is the mass of undigested parts of a bird's food that some bird species occasionally regurgitate. The contents of a bird's pellet depend on its diet, but can include the exoskeletons of insects, indigestible plant matter, bones, fur, feathers, bills, claws, and teeth. In falconry, the pellet is called a casting." ---- Copied and pasted from Wikipedia.

Noah came home yesterday very excited to have dissected his owl pellet and very happy to show off his results. The kids had dissected the pellets, sorted the bones, matched them to their labeled picture and glued them down. Very cool. I'm glad he enjoyed his exciting day in science. :)
